What you write and how you feel never leave your phone. Your worries, mood check-ins and practice history are stored only on your device, and the answers you type in exercises are never sent anywhere. We have no servers and no accounts, and we can't see any of it. The only data the app sends is anonymous app-usage counts and crash reports, processed for us by Google Firebase. There are no ads, we don't collect the advertising ID, and we never sell or share your data.

Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains how the Mindhush: Stop Overthinking app ("Mindhush") for Android (package name com.spiritualizeme.stopoverthinking), published on Google Play by Spiritualize Me ("we", "us"), handles your information. It applies to the Android app only. Mindhush is not currently available on any other platform.

No account or sign-in is needed. You don't give us your name, email address, phone number or any other contact details to use the app.

Information Stored Only on Your Device

Everything you enter or do in Mindhush is saved in the app's private storage on your phone, where other apps can't read it. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.

  • Worries you write down (including a thought you choose to save for tomorrow in the bedtime Quiet the Thoughts exercise): the text you type, the topic you pick, when you added it, the plan you chose for it and when you marked it resolved. Kept until you delete it.
  • Mood check-ins: the mood you choose each day (one per day). The last 60 days are kept; older days are removed automatically.
  • Daily practice: which of the day's steps you completed, and your before-and-after check-in of how busy your mind felt (on a scale of 1 to 5). The last 60 days are kept.
  • Session history: which exercise or breathing session you finished, the topic it was for, how long it took and when. The most recent 500 sessions are kept.
  • Settings: whether background music, breathing bells and haptics are on.

Answers you type during an exercise (for example, the things you notice in a grounding exercise) are used only on screen while the exercise is open and are not saved, even on your phone. The one exception is the bedtime Quiet the Thoughts exercise: if you choose I need to remember this tomorrow, the thought you typed is added to your worry list on your phone, so you can find it the next day. Like every worry, it stays on your device until you delete it.

Device Backup

If Android Backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include the app's on-device data (such as your worries and mood check-ins) in your personal device backup, so it can be restored on a new phone. That backup is made by Android and stored in your own Google account under Google's Privacy Policy. We have no access to it. You can turn it off in your phone's Settings โ†’ Google โ†’ Backup.

Information Collected and Why

The app uses two Google Firebase services. They are the only way any data leaves your phone because of Mindhush.

1. App usage: Firebase Analytics

Firebase Analytics records the automatic events that Firebase collects for every app. We have not added any custom events, so it does not know which exercises you use, what you write or how you feel. It collects:

  • App activity: first open, sessions started, screen views, time spent in the app (engagement), app and Android updates, clearing the app's data, and app removal.
  • Device and app information: device model and brand, Android version, screen resolution, language, app version and the store the app was installed from (via the Google Play Install Referrer).
  • Approximate location: country, region and city, worked out by Google from your IP address. The app never uses GPS or asks for location permission.
  • An app instance ID: a random identifier created on your phone so that sessions from the same installation can be counted together.

Why: to see how many people use the app, keep it working well on the phones and Android versions people actually use, and decide what to improve.

2. Crash reports: Firebase Crashlytics

If the app crashes or hits a serious error, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report containing:

  • the technical error and the part of the app's code where it happened (stack trace)
  • device model, Android version, app version, screen orientation, free memory and storage, and whether the device is rooted
  • the time of the crash and a Crashlytics installation identifier (a random ID used to group reports from the same installation)
  • the recent automatic Analytics events listed above, to show what happened just before the crash

Crash reports don't include your worries, mood check-ins or exercise answers. Why: to find and fix bugs and keep the app stable.

What Is Never Collected

  • โŒ Your worries, mood check-ins, exercise answers or practice history
  • โŒ Your name, email address, phone number, contacts or photos
  • โŒ Precise location (GPS)
  • โŒ The Android advertising ID: the app removes the advertising ID permission and turns off advertising ID collection in Firebase
  • โŒ Anything used for advertising, profiling or tracking you across other apps or websites

Android Permissions

Mindhush asks for no runtime permissions. It has no access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, files or notifications. It uses these standard permissions, which Android grants automatically:

  • Internet and network state: to send the Firebase usage counts and crash reports described above. All exercises work offline.
  • Vibrate: for the small haptic tap when you press something (you can turn it off in Settings).
  • Wake lock: used by Firebase to finish sending queued reports in the background.
  • Google Play Install Referrer: used by Firebase Analytics to know the app was installed from Google Play.

When You Contact Us or Share the App

  • Feedback: tapping Feedback opens your own email app with a message addressed to us. If you send it, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use them only to reply to you. You can ask us to delete your emails at any time.
  • Share app: tapping Share app opens Android's share sheet with a short message and a link to the app. What you share, and with whom, is up to you; we don't see it.
  • Rate us / More apps: these open the Google Play Store. Ratings and reviews are handled by Google Play under Google's Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

These Google services process data on our behalf, only for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Google Firebase Analytics: anonymous app usage, as described above (how Google uses data from apps)
  • Google Firebase Crashlytics: crash reporting
  • Google Play Services: app distribution and updates

The app contains no advertising SDKs and no other analytics or tracking tools.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade any data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. The usage and crash data described above is processed by Google as our service provider. We would disclose information only if required by law, for example in response to a valid legal request, and none of your personal entries are available to us to disclose.

Data Retention & Deletion

  • On your device: worries are kept until you delete them; mood check-ins and daily practice records are kept for 60 days; session history keeps the latest 500 sessions.
  • Firebase Analytics: usage events are kept for no longer than 14 months and then deleted automatically.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports are kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically.
  • Emails you send us: kept only as long as needed to answer you, and deleted on request.

How to Delete Your Data

  • A single worry: tap Manage worry to open Your worries, then delete it.
  • Everything on your device: go to Android Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ Mindhush โ†’ Storage โ†’ Clear storage, or uninstall the app. This permanently removes all your worries, moods, history and settings.
  • Usage and crash data: clearing the app's storage or reinstalling the app creates new random identifiers, so nothing collected afterwards can be linked to earlier data, which then expires on the schedule above. Because this data isn't linked to your name or email, we can't look it up by person. If you'd like help, email us.

There is no account, so there is no account to delete.

Security

Data sent to Firebase is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Your entries are kept in the app's private storage, which Android isolates from other apps and protects with your phone's own encryption and screen lock. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we keep the data that leaves your phone to the minimum described here.

Health and Wellbeing Information

Mindhush is a self-help wellbeing tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition. The personal reflections you enter (worries, moods, answers) can be sensitive, which is why they stay on your device and are never collected by us or used for advertising. If you are in crisis or need medical advice, please contact a healthcare professional or your local emergency services.

Children's Privacy

Mindhush is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information (for example by email), contact us at help.wellnesss@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 or California privacy law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. All the personal content in the app is already in your hands on your device, and you can view or delete it at any time as described above. For anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and understanding how it is used to process the anonymous usage and crash data. Google may process this data on servers outside your country, under its own safeguards for international transfers.

Changes to This Policy

If the app starts handling data differently, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check this page from time to time.
